Kernel & Roast – UK

Kernel & Roast brings together the world’s finest regional delicacies in the first multi-sensory natural and organic foods experience emporium worldwide. Discover a heavenly blend of sights, scents and flavours in-store at Westfield London. This very first and unique Kernel and Roast’s UK shop has a strong, modern identity as per our highest level of customization to achieve the highest clients’ satisfaction. Criocabin along with our UK partner CRS, worked with CADA design to develop the front of house to create a Sweets Counter offering nuts, sweets and chocolates, a Coffee Counter serving every type of coffee you can imagine along with teas, cakes and pastries and a Fruit and Nut wall. As you walk in, to your left is the sweets counter displaying Turkish Delights in the window, the counter then runs into the shop presenting Lokum and Halva on bespoke brass multi-levelled trays in ambient displays of marble and glass trimmed in brass. The chocolates are housed in a temperate and humidity-controlled case with a glass mid shelf and delicate LED lighting. This leads to a till section in white Calacatta marble and an ice box at the end of the run for chilled almonds served to customers in cones. In the middle of the shop, a wall of Criocabin EPV units on top of 4 bays of Turkish warming nut drawers create an eye-catching chilled wall of nuts and dried fruits. These are all housed in bespoke drawers with glass fronts to display 48 different varieties customers can create their own selection of treats. Along the right-hand side of the shop is the coffee counter made of natural brass and black Nero Marquina marble. The counter encompasses a bespoke Criocabin Elisir patisserie display, a low-level Ethos multideck and bespoke brass display trays sitting on the counter tops presenting ambient cakes. At the front of the shop is a high level Criocabin Ethos multideck offering customers food to go alongside some high-level seating. The refrigeration is economically engineered to recover the heat and reuse it to warm water which is then used in the wash hand basins. Not only is this environmentally friendly but keeps utility bills to a minimum.
