Criocabin takes over Mondel, a long-standing brand of custom-made display counters for fish and meat.

Criocabin S.p.A., a major company in the design and production of refrigerated display counters, has announced that it has entered into an agreement for the takeover of Mondel S.r.l., a long-standing brand in the sector. Over the years, Mondel, based in Solesino (PD), has developed a range of highly appreciated products for food distribution, especially custom-made display counters for fish and meat.

Mondel will merge with the companies in the Criocabin family and benefit from group synergies while still retaining its independent identity and brand.

“We are very pleased to begin merging with the Mondel group, a leading brand in a niche sector. With our support, Mondel will be able to better develop its great potential,” said Andrea Babetto, President and CEO of Criocabin. “By expanding our business to include Mondel brand products we will be able to strengthen our presence in certain segments, such as special products for displaying fish and meat, which are expected to see significant growth in national and international markets. This is a highly important step, as it is occurring in a very turbulent year for the economy, which reflects our group’s drive towards growth and the commitment of shareholders and management to pursuing our goals.”

“The opportunity to be part of the historic Criocabin family, which features a strong focus on design, cutting-edge organisation and a powerful presence in international markets, offers great potential for developing our company and for all our employees”, commented Paolo Miotto and Cinzia Zanella, founders and partners of Mondel.

Paolo Miotto and Cinzia Zanella will remain in the group, which includes the companies Criocabin, Zoin and Mondel, and on the board of directors of the latter.
