One of the most important aspects of a properly functioning refrigerated counter is the choice of an appropriate non-polluting refrigerant fluid. To reduce the hole in the ozone layer, the Montreal Protocol banned FREON refrigerant fluids in 1990, introducing the use of HFC or HFE gases. Criocabin always produces refrigerated counters with careful attention to the environment and sustainability: this is why we market cutting-edge products with low (less than 5) GWP — Global Warming Potential refrigerant fluids.

Criocabin is an ANIMA – Assocold associate, and as such we helped to draft the new international F-gas Regulation to reduce the use of polluting gases by working tirelessly for the “Fit For 55” EU plan for a green transition.

With the European climate regulation as part of the European Green Deal, the EU set a binding goal of achieving climate neutrality by 2050. This will require a significant reduction from current levels of greenhouse gas emissions in the coming decades. As an intermediate step towards climate neutrality, the EU powered up its climate ambitions for 2030, making a commitment to reduce emissions by at least 55% by 2030. As part of the Fit for 55% package, the EU is working to revise the regulations on climate, energy and transport to align the current laws with the ambitions for 2030 and 2050.
